Sport is never just a game.
The Sport, Media & Culture Minor (SMAC) invites students to examine how sport shapes culture, and how culture shapes sport. Learn to practice and analyze sport with an eye toward human dignity and the common good.
- Interdisciplinary critical analysis
- Sports media, broadcasting and journalism
- Sports industry careers
- Coaching, education and community engagement
SMAC seeks to enroll a cohort of students with a variety of backgrounds, interests, and relationships to sport. Students from any school, college, or major may apply.
Applications are due by 11:59pm Wednesday April 1, 2026. Applicants will be notified of the admission committee's decision via email on or before April 8, 2026.
